Advent 2018 Day 6

First of all, I want to thank you all for the comments here and on Facebook.  Each one is such an encouragement to me.  Sharing Scripture with you is my heart, first and foremost.

This kit has become one of my top favorites.  I like the rustic, simple feel and the colors seem to be so relaxing to me.  I hope you are all enjoying it and can find ways to use it that will bless your family and friends.

In yesterday’s Advent reading, it was proclaimed that Jesus is “the Christ, the Son of the Living God.”

Today, we see Christ humbling Himself to become a servant, even when He knew He would be betrayed by those He lived with, ate with, prayed with, communed with,  and He still comforts and encourages them.

Today’s reading:

Matthew 16:23

But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.”

Philippians 2:7

[He] emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, born in the likeness of men.

John 13:4b-5

He laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist.  Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

John 13:21b

“Truly, truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me.”

Mark 14:27

And Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’

Mark 14:31

But he said emphatically, “If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” And they all said the same.

John 14:1a

“Let not your hearts be troubled.”

Our Almighty Father, during this Advent season, help us to humble ourselves to serve and encourage others, even those we expect to betray us.  Let us show love to the unlovable, serve those who won’t be grateful, encourage those who are broken and untrustworthy, in the likeness of Christ, all for Your glory.  Amen

Today’s Advent gift is a set of journal cards.  You could print these with your favorite Scripture or a word of encouragement to cheer someone this Christmas season.  As always, just click on the picture to go to the download.

This is the information about the “kit” that was given last year for Advent.  If you didn’t get it, you can find it in my store at My Memories for half price.  If you got last year’s Advent kit, you may want to check out the add-on.  I also have a bundle deal with the kit and add-on.  Just click on the preview you would like to check out. But first, take a look at some inspiration from my wonderful CT:
