Advent 2018 Day 3

Since the fall (the sin of Adam and Eve), we have been born unrighteous.  As we saw yesterday, God foretold the coming of Christ when He spoke to the serpent.  Christ coming to earth was meant to be, from the beginning.  God was not caught off guard by the fall.  Christ was not “plan B.”

Romans 5:19

For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.

Matthew 21:37

Finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’

Isaiah 9:6

For to us a child is born,
    to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
    and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 53:2

For he grew up before him like a young plant,
    and like a root out of dry ground;
he had no form or majesty that we should look at him,
    and no beauty that we should desire him.

Luke 3:22b

“You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”

Father God,
I pray that you will help me to live more obedient and righteous.  Make clear the sin in my own life that I may repent, all for Your glory.  Amen
